Music & Massage
Whether or not you have music during your massage is entirely up to you although I would strongly recommend it. Relaxing music can increase our levels of serotonin (the feel good hormone/neurotransmitter) and is in fact used for therapy on its own so when coupled with a massage you are getting double the benefit!
Our minds are always busy thinking, and if we are honest we would realise that half of it is made up nonsense! It's just what we do. It's what can keep us awake at night.
Music is a great distraction to help switch off that chattering in our head, and allow us the space to truly relax, it's like a holiday for the mind!
While massage is physically easing our muscles, and kick starting many body systems into self healing, these effects can be greatly enhanced by music because we are connecting body and mind together. You may find yourself reaching a meditative state of total relaxation, and this in turn clears our minds and allows focus.
Obviously your choice of music is important. You can find a great selection of relaxation music on youtube and pick the one that best resonates with you. It really will enhance your massage experience.
